About Robyn Gold
Hey there! I’m a Mindfulness Coach, Certified Meditation Teacher, and author, with a background as a trauma therapist.
I created Growing With Gold to help you align who you are and what you want with how you’re living.
Based in Richmond, VA. Supporting clients worldwide.
My Journey From Near-Death to a Mindful Life
Not being present almost killed me. For most of my life, I felt misunderstood, easily overwhelmed, and disconnected from my body. Even though I was a trauma therapist for over a decade, I spent most of that time avoiding my own emotional discomfort.
After many years of compulsive binge eating to self-soothe, I was hospitalized and diagnosed with dangerously uncontrolled diabetes in 2018. As scary as it was, it was also the wake up call I needed to start living differently.
Being present saved my life. Regularly practicing mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork, along with many years of support from an incredibly gifted therapist, enabled me to make sustainable changes that not only reversed diabetes, but created space for profound emotional healing.
While this may seem like a nice, neat little ending, living mindfully isn’t a destination I’ve reached. It’s a moment to moment choice that’s not always easy, but always feels worthwhile. My ongoing practice continues to enrich my life, and has exponentially expanded my capacity to support others from a deeper place of understanding and lived experience.
I created Growing With Gold to share the tools, insights, and lessons I’ve learned (and continue to learn), both personally and professionally. I know how abstract practicing mindfulness can feel when you’ve spent your whole life trying to get anywhere other than this moment. The coaching and resources I offer make it practical to support you wherever you are in your journey.
My Coaching Values
Everyone Deserves Support
People learn and grow in different ways, at different paces, and through different approaches. I created Growing With Gold to offer a wide range of support at varying costs that’s accessible to anyone, anywhere, with any learning style, schedule, financial situation, and at any stage in their journey.
The Purpose is the Process
Life isn’t about getting to where you’re going… it’s about being where you are. And wherever you are, every moment is an opportunity for awareness, growth, and living in alignment with your values. Remaining present with your journey and embracing life as it happens is the whole point of living.
Your Body is Always Talking to You, But It Doesn't Talk in Words
The body speaks in sensations and movement. Physical sensations like tightness or tension are often signals to slow down and offer yourself space to listen to your body with compassion. Exploring your mind-body connection in this way can strengthen inner peace and emotional resilience.
Gentle Curiosity Without Judgment
The practice of shifting from, “why can’t I stop feeling this way?” to “I wonder what my body is trying to tell me,” can deepen self-awareness and self-compassion. Being gentle with yourself supports emotional wellbeing and makes it easier to more consistently meet your needs.
Presence and Self-Commitment Go Hand in Hand
Choosing to stay present from moment to moment takes an ongoing commitment to yourself. Self-commitment without presence can turn into forcing yourself to do things, and then feeling like you’ve failed when you don’t follow through. Practicing both together supports deeper self-trust, self-compassion, and creating sustainable changes that align with your values.
