Hi, I'm Robyn Gold, Certified Meditation Teacher

Meditation is one of my favorite practices now, but when I first started, I could barely sit with myself for 5 minutes…

Smiling portrait of Robyn Gold sitting behind her desk, offering mindfulness coaching

Despite having taught meditation as a therapist for many years before I started practicing myself, and having seen the benefits others experienced, it felt intolerable to sit with with my racing thoughts and uncomfortable feelings.

I wanted to make different choices for my health, and I knew that meant learning how to be more present with myself, even when things felt uncomfortable. So, I made a promise to myself to stick with it. Little by little, the more I practiced, the more I was able to observe my experience without getting lost in it.

Practicing meditation taught me that knowing something in your mind is not the same thing as feeling the truth of that in your body emotionally. And with that insight, I started teaching from a deeper place of understanding, and ultimately went on to gain more training and certification as a meditation teacher.

What are Binaural Beats?

Binaural beats are an auditory illusion we experience when two slightly different frequencies are played separately in each ear, so they’re best listened to with headphones. The part of the brain involved in auditory processing perceives a third tone (the difference between the two frequencies) that doesn’t exist as a physical sound in our external environment.

When listened to in specific frequency ranges, binaural beats can induce relaxation, focus, creativity, heightened intuition, and improved sleep.

How Do Binaural Beats Work?

Our brain’s electrical activity naturally moves at different speeds depending on the state we’re in. From fastest to slowest: Gamma is highly focused, Beta is alert or stressed, Alpha is calm, relaxed or daydreaming, Theta can be either a deeply meditative or creative state, or in between waking and sleeping, and Delta is deep state of relaxation or sleep.

Sound can have a profound effect on our mental state. For example, have you ever noticed feeling more relaxed when listening to a slow song, or feeling more alert or energetic when you listen to a fast one?

Since sound frequencies can influence brain activity, binaural beats can be used to reduce stress and connect to a more relaxed brainwave state, which can be a great foundation for practicing self-guided or unguided meditation. I created the tracks above using the following frequencies:

⟡   Delta (0.5 – 4 Hz)

⟡   Theta (4 – 8 Hz)

⟡   Alpha (8 – 14 Hz)

Binaural beats alone sound like a constant pulsing. Some people find it soothing, but for many, it can quickly become boring, or even uncomfortable. Since most people find it easier to relax when calming music is added (and because I love making music), I created these tracks to help you more deeply immerse yourself into your listening experience.

Happy listening!

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re welcome to book each session type separately. While they can’t be combined into a single session, you may choose to book one after the other in the same day (for example, a coaching session followed by a longer practice session, or a practice session followed by coaching for integration). You can also book each session more than once to support your ongoing practice.

If you’re unsure, Holistic Mindfulness Coaching is usually the best place to start, as it’s a comprehensive approach, whereas meditation and breathwork are more specialized.

Choose meditation if you’re specifically looking to start or deepen a practice that  strengthens presence, self-connection, emotional balance & resilience, and mind-body awareness.

Since meditation can sometimes include some breathwork practices, breathwork sessions are even more specialized and specifically for those looking for deeper somatic & nervous system work with much less of a focus on discussion.

If you want to talk it through before deciding, book a free call:

Personalized guided meditation sessions: If you are a beginner or short on time, I suggest 30-45 minutes. If you are wanting to go deeper into a meditation practice, 1 hour-90 minutes would be ideal.

Meditation coaching sessions: Session length is more flexible and depends on what you’re needing. 45 minute or 1 hour sessions work well for most check-ins and focused conversations with quick practices integrated into our discussion. 90 minute sessions offer more time for discussion, practice and integration.

You’re more than welcome to request additional time whenever it feels needed. If scheduling allows, we’ll discuss how much time feels beneficial and I’ll send you a payment link to continue based on my hourly rate of $222.

I encourage you to ensure you’re in a private, quiet, and comfortable space where you won’t be interrupted. Some people find it useful to keep a journal handy or bring a list of intentions/specific areas to focus on, but these aren’t required. If you booked a personalized guided meditation, you may also wish to use headphones and/or an eye mask for your practice.

Full refunds are available if sessions are cancelled at least 24 hours in advance. No-shows, as well as cancellations and reschedule requests made less than 24 hours before our scheduled appointment are non-refundable.

Individual sessions are typically held online, and you’ll receive a Google Meet link after booking.

If you live in Richmond, VA and would prefer to meet in person, please contact me or schedule a free call before booking your session to discuss available options and logistics.

At this time, I don’t offer discounts or payment plans for one-on-one guided meditation sessions or coaching because the work itself isn’t discounted. I bring my full presence, comprehensive expertise, emotional depth, and grounded support to every session. The investment reflects the value of the deeply personalized attention and care you receive and the 15+ years of experience I’ll be bringing to our work together.

If the individual rate isn’t accessible right now, you can explore the free resources or in-depth guidance offered earlier on this page or view my upcoming events calendar on Meetup for group offerings offered online and in person in Richmond, VA.

You will receive an email with the downloadable file for every purchase. For the Meditation Guide, the file format will be a PDF, and for guided meditations and binaural beats music, the file format will be an MP3.

All of your purchases will also accessible anytime by logging into your account and visiting the Downloads section.
